DETAILS
***Please note that the registration will ask you to input your name and email twice before you click "complete."*** This summer the PeaceTrees community and beyond is invited to read a selected book related to the organization’s mission. The featured novel this year is The Manicurist’s Daughter by Susan Lieu. After reading it, please join us for a local citizen diplomacy event where she will discuss her writing, refugee narrative, and second generation perspective as it relates to the Vietnamese diaspora experience and the continuous impacts of the Vietnam War. If purchasing the book, we invite folks to support local businesses, including Mam’s Books in the International District. PeaceTrees Vietnam is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and Quảng Trị Province, Vietnam. The organization is dedicated to addressing the legacy of the U.S-Vietnam War through mine action, community assistance, and citizen diplomacy. In partnership with Vietnamese leadership and local communities, PeaceTrees safely clears land of explosive remnants of war and supports community-led education and economic development initiatives so that future generations can thrive. We are delighted to offer this event at the Little Saigon Creative in partnership with Friends of Little Saigon and author Susan Lieu. Contact info@peacetreesvietnam.org if you have any questions.
